HOORAH! finished stripy bag

was a heck a heck of a lot of stitching, ESPECIALLY the straps, that took for god damn ever!
i made the button out of fimo coz i couldn't find one that worked with the rest of the bag .
i made this tote, for carrying my A3 sketchbooks to uni as well as generally useful bag. the reason i made one, instead of just using the one i had was becuase i wanted the pocket on the front, mostly becuase i used a bag this size on my last trip home and not having pocket on the front for my travel tickets and stuff was a PAIN. and i wanted it to be bright and smile inducing :)

wool worth it..

...yes... im that lame!
as i mentioned in an earlier post, when i was home recently i popped into a wool shop, and found some BARGAINS! £1 a ball! heck yes!

so, here are my spoils :)

(this is more blue in reality, couldn't get the colour right on the camera)
And this is what i have left over from making my friend's gloves, she gave it too me :)

gifts from am-re-ka!

forgot to say earlier, my friend helen has been away over in the summer, working and then traveling in america and she brought me bak some AWESOME things
the BEST being:
this freakin SWEET timer, i LOVE it, its awesome!
she also bought me pocky, i dont think i will EVER be able to have pocky without thinking about helen and our glorious glorious china times :)

oh and a really cool square of fabric i shall have to find something fun to do with :)

so, much love for my helen face

freshers fayre madness!

so me and mah buddeh decided there is not enough crafting going on at our uni so we started a society, here is our stall at the freshers fayre:
you can check out the society blog here http://bitz-and-bobz.blogspot.com/

and here is some of the prep work we did to get to the fayre
some of the stuff we baked.
We ended up with 82 cupcakes, 29 people shaped biscuits, 25 cookies, 23 biscuits, 20 jam biscuits and 2 trays of brownies
all the cakes all staked up, ready to be taken to the fayre,
and here, are some naked freshers :)
and i leave you with this rather jolly picture of me and helen at the freshers fayre :)

stag pillow

It was my friends birthday, and she LOVES Cath Kidston and cushions so i thought i'd try doing some thing with that, heres what i got:
back detail hand embroidery

i found the fabrics from ebay on this awesome shop, has all kinds of fabric, but i really liked these and i knew she would too.
Basically it was inspired by this painting that Isobel did which was a black silhouette of a stags head on a flowery background. ANYWAY, i am now obsessed with stags heads, i want to make it into my logo :)
what else? i messed up the edging, the corners didnt fit properly.. so it doesn't lie flat,,, i guess thats something i'll have to work on.. just need to work out why it happened..

Doing the embroidery was a pain in arse the, then i suddenly occurred to me, that here was a time when my embroidery loop would be dang useful. My gran brought it for me YEARS ago for my cross stitch but i never found it useful for that, nice to finally use it :)

i did, however, look like a RIGHT granny :)

arm warmers galore!

Whilst i was in my hometown i met up with one of my buddies who saw me knitting a pair of arm warmers for myself and was like oooo, will you make some for me? of course i agreed to, i think she said she wanted them in black but she then remembers she has some wool already:
this stuff, its beautiful, this coming from me... i HATE pink... but its lovely stuff, thick, soft, im not used to using wool that has such a lose twist, but i got used to it after a while :)
(it is of course however too late for me, shes mentioned going to a wool shop so of course i had to go :) i picked up a nice few ball on the cheap.. wow... there's something i should never say again, i'll take a photo when i remember..of the wool)

Anywhich way, here are Hannah's finished:
and here they are all wrapped up for her :)
the blue pair i was knitting initially, i ended up giving to Matt for his birthday :) i dont have a photo of them but maybe i'll ask him to take one :)

birfday cakes :)

two of my most lovely-est friends had birthdays recently, i was kinda pushed for time so they where pretty simple ones.

this is matt matts one:
he is in his final year of a digital film production degree, so i thought it would be funsies. he was 22(hence scene number) i chose el bandito as the title becuase matt matt is... hes a crazy fuckin non mexican :)

AND Isobels
she wanted a peppa pig one but it just wasnt gonna happen. sooo i chose cath kidson-ie colours, because she LOVES that stuff :)

i meant it when i said i was obsessed with marbling :) don't know why i chose theses colours. Matt matts was plain on the bottom with a layer of chocolate sponge on top. i just layered them straight into the cake 'tin' no putting them together after.

and here is Isobel, enjoying her cake :)

MORE cupcakes

i've been promising my self an icing bag for AGERS and i was in my home town a couple of weeks back, having a wonder round the shops with my bestie and we saw these:

so i got that, then found a muffin tray for a reasonable price (i have also been promising myself one of those for along time) so snapped that up, which of course meant when i got home, it was baking time :)
recently every cake i make i have marbled, i just like the way it looks :)
heres how they looked done:
then i got to icing, my icing wasn't quite stiff enough for anything too adventurous :(
two of my really good friends had birthdays recently so i made them cakes, and they will be up soon (hopefully :) )

forget gold leaf, chocolate leaf is where its at...

i was flicking through a cook book, saw these and i couldn't help having ago:

sooo all u have to do is melt some chocolate and spread it on the back of some leaves, let them set and....
voila!

these ones ^where IMPOSSIBLE to take off without breaking

these came of pretty easy

i've done this really stupid thing again where i've actually done a couple of crafty things and just not quite gotten round to getting the pics off the camera so im gonna do a coupe of posts (if i can bothered) showing what creative things i've been up to...
